Winner ICONIC AWARDS: Interior Innovation – the Third Design Prize in 2016 for Cubit Sofa
The ICONICS AWARDS: Interior Innovations design prize was awarded for the first time this year by the German Design Council. The goal is clearly defined by Andrej Kupetz, CEO of the German Design Council, in the introduction of the award announcement: architecture and furnishings should be better connected. In the “Furniture” category, the modular sofa system from Cubit® won over the five-member jury from the fields of trade, design and media on November 3, 2015.
A prize to better connect architecture and furnishings
fter winning the "Focus Silver" at the Focus Open International Design Awards in Baden-Württemberg and the "German Design Award Special Mention", also awarded by the German Design Council, this third prize represents a logical substantive step. After all, the Cubit-Sofa is not only chosen by people who want to innovatively decorate for private use, but also by architects and interior designers.
The Cubit sofa: A confident statement that integrates well into an existing environment
Product designer Olaf Schroeder designed the sofa system and brought it to life with the Cubit team. Here’s how he estimates the value: “Cubit’s modular sofa system is interesting for the commercial sector, since the sofa arrangements can be presented in a variety of ways. Large rooms, foyers, lounge areas in companies represent the perfect platform for Cubit’s modular sofa system, since it is integrates both discretely and respectfully into existing architectures thanks to its clear timeless design and its fascinating proportions.”
The award ceremony will take place in Cologne during the imm cologne 2016.
