The sideboard – central furniture piece in Nele’s home and office

“I’ve always wanted a sideboard as a stage for my souvenirs,” explains Nele, a tourism expert from Nuremberg. She has traveled to every continent – turned her hobby into her career – and of course, brought personal treasure back from wherever she goes. After she returned, vases, sculptures, jewelry and fabrics often disappeared into crates, where they couldn’t be seen or used. She wanted to put an end to that. “When I found the modular shelf by Cubit® on the Internet, it was like I had discovered a new continent. The simple design of a sideboardreally made my exhibits look great. I can alter it to suit the mood.”

The sideboard by Cubit® guarantees atmospheric arrangements

Nele has now implemented her ideas precisely according to plan (luckily she has plenty of space in her apartment). She creates her own sideboard for each continent, all of which are equally effective on their own. She has collected her memories of Africa in a very modest arrangement housed in shades of red. Her sideboard creation for Asia sits in pink, light green and yellow. And so it continues. Antarctica? Shimmersin white and blue! The “Europe” sideboard is brilliantly colorful and is comprised of different sized modules. Nele opts for modules with doors or drawers for valuable pieces. This protects the treasures against light and dust, while leaving them easily accessible.

The sideboard also works well in the office

Nele works at an agency for alternative and sustainable travel. Her colleagues were so impressed by the Cubit® shelving system that they also purchased one for the office. Each workplace is now fitted with a sideboard. This means that brochures, maps and other media can all be stored at arm’s reach. There are modules that perfectly fit CDs and DVDs, as well as photobooks or atlases. As a sideboard, the informational materials form an attractive framework for tourism advice.
