Susanne from Hamburg discussing her LP shelf
“Cubit is my evergreen.”
“I just couldn’t say no,” remembers Susanne. Her retired parents moved to Europe’s sun-drenched south a few years ago, leaving quite a few things behind, including a considerable collection of vinyl records with all of the Beatles’ LPs. 1966, when the “Fab Four” held their last concert in their home town, was the year that Susanne was born. Her parents have had Beatlemania for years and bought every album. So it’ll be high time that they let go of this memory now? Impossible! But what to do with “Revolver”, “Help!”, and “Magical Mystery Tour”? It was time for an LP shelf – and quick. Meanwhile, Susanne’s own relics from her musical education had been living a miserable existence in a box in the basement. All that was about to change. She found an LP shelf in the Cubit shop that would fit perfectly into her apartment.
LP shelves from Cubit : stability sets the tone
She opted for a simple white shelf for the vinyl records, installing it in the living room. The shelf certainly proved to be a great talking point the next time she had friends over. “A shelf with records,” exclaimed some with delight. Others, meanwhile, lamented the fact that they’d sold theirs at the flea market. Others, still, simply marveled at the modular shelving system. Because, in the meantime, Susanne had also found an individual arrangement for books and CDs. The vinyl records on her shelf now decorate her home just as nicely as other media.
Functional design is timeless – for LP shelves too
She might not know anything about her children’s taste in music, since it developed digitally and silently through headphones, but even Susanne’s own kids appear to be a bit jealous of her hip accessories. The two generations enjoy browsing through the LPs on the shelf together. And sometimes, grandpa and grandma get in on the fun too via Skype. Beats reunited.
