The founders
The Cubit story began in Düsseldorf in 2006 with a radical version of storage space. The founding team around interior designer Minou Farkhondeh and businessman Thomas Reichel developed a shelving system without rules: Modular, configurable, high-quality. This was followed somewhat later by the Cubit sofa, which transferred the idea of freely combinable modules to upholstered furniture - a real revolution! As newcomers to the industry, the Cubit team brought a lot of pioneering spirit to these projects, but also a different way of thinking about furniture. To this day, the modular principle has often been copied and it is impossible to imagine modern furnishings without it. However, Cubit systems are still unique - thanks to continuous optimisation of our products and a constantly growing range.
The design
Furniture has outer and inner values. We work with a young team of designers to design our range. They develop a straightforward and timeless design language that blends into any interior and allows Cubit to harmonise perfectly with each other. Cubit began with a simple cube that could grow in all directions. Even though our range now includes many more objects, uncomplicated design is still the basis of our design.
In colour and colourful
But that doesn't mean that furniture has to be cool and functional, on the contrary: thanks to the infinite configuration options and a variety of surfaces, anything is possible with Cubit today: architectural simplicity as well as pure joie de vivre! Minou Farkhondeh has designed the sophisticated colour concept. The smart colour palette underlines the uniqueness of each piece of furniture at the end of the configuration.
Sustainability
The careful use of resources and materials is important to us, as are fair conditions for our employees and suppliers. That's why we produce our furniture in Germany and the EU. Not only out of consideration for the environment, but also because individual furniture should give its owners a lifetime of pleasure. At Cubit, we therefore rely on manufacturing quality that can withstand many moves. A logical step was to set up our own upholstery company in East Westphalia, where Cubit sofas are manufactured today. Short transportation routes, direct quality control and a cultivated tradition of craftsmanship combine to create products that are really as good on the inside as they look on the outside.
The team
Our range is growing in collaboration with a small network of designers who have been involved with the Cubit concept for a long time. The founding team Minou Farkhondeh and Thomas Reichel are still involved in all new projects and make sure that every new product has that certain Cubit twist.
The possibilities
Made in Germany - this also means that we know who makes our furniture and are involved in production right from the start. This gives us many opportunities to fulfill even complex special requests. With our team of experienced interior designers, upholsterers and industrial seamstresses and an in-house development department, we offer a professional interface for contract furnishing and architecture. We are happy to accompany interior projects from the first sketches or use our planning software to ensure that you never lose track of the endless possibilities of the Cubit systems.
